I’ve just finished reading “Data and Goliat” by Bruce Schneier. The content is well presented in reviews on amazon.
A few insights I find worth mentioning:
- without breaking the rules there is no progress, so in fully invigilated society chances on progress are drastically limited
- ad-companies know that women feel less attractive on Monday 🙂
- there are ways to hide from tracking online, read http://firstmonday.org/article/view/3493/2955 , found https://cs.nyu.edu/trackmenot/ and https://adnauseam.io/ (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZl0VX7UknQ)
- encryption is ultimate weapon we personally can use to protect against “bad” and also “good” guys. With good software, strong password, your data is practically 100% save. VeraCrypt for all 🙂
